Not every property needs the same rendering system. Older buildings, solid-wall homes and heritage properties often need a breathable approach, while other properties may benefit from a more modern weather-resistant finish. The wrong specification can trap moisture in the wall and create more serious problems over time, including cracking, crazing and water penetration.
We offer three breathable systems: lime, silicone and cork. Each is chosen according to the age, construction and condition of the property. All three allow moisture within the wall to escape naturally rather than becoming trapped behind a non-breathable surface, helping the render perform properly for the long term rather than simply masking what is happening beneath it.
Our recommendations are made with moisture behaviour in mind, so the chosen finish improves weather resistance while still allowing the wall to breathe where appropriate. This is especially important on older solid-wall properties, where the wrong external finish can make internal damp issues worse rather than better.
