Condensation forms when warm, moisture-laden air meets colder surfaces such as windows, external walls or poorly insulated corners. Poor ventilation, inadequate heating and excess indoor humidity can all make the problem worse. In many homes, it is the interaction between all three that creates a recurring mould issue.
Water on windows, black mould spotting, stale air, musty smells and repeated mould growth behind furniture or in colder parts of rooms. Where these conditions persist, the problem needs more than a wipe-down.
We carry out a full indoor air quality test as standard, measuring formaldehyde, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) and total volatile organic compounds, alongside relative humidity, allowing us to calculate the dew point at which condensation actually occurs. We also assess insulation levels, heating patterns and ventilation to build a complete picture.

Where black mould is established, we use a three-part remediation approach addressing the existing growth, the cold wall surface and the excess humidity.
Fungal growth and spores are removed fully. We prepare the area with protective sheets and prepare ourselves by wearing full PPE. Applied in two parts, we remove the mould by hand followed by manual wash-down so walls are properly cleaned rather than just chemically treated.
ISOtherm is a 3mm insulation roll fixed directly to the wall, then skimmed straight over for a clean, breathable, decoration-ready finish. It raises surface temperature by 5-6°C, pushes back the dew point, and reduces the wall’s U-value — meaning less heat loss and noticeably less condensation, especially across multiple treated walls.
Ventilation disperses excess humidity, replacing it with clean, filtered air. This removes airborne moisture and contaminants at source. Particularly valuable for customers with COPD, asthma or dust allergies.
